Op mijn 18e ontdekte ik mijn passie voor dansen dankzij de balfolk gemeenschap in Utrecht. Na omzwervingen langs tango, salsa, Iers dansen, paaldansen en zelfs wat luchtacrobatiek vond ik uiteindelijk echt mijn plek in de lindyhop scene van Amsterdam. Dit bleek algauw slechts het begin te zijn van een fascinatie met all things Swing. Al snel werd ik gevraagd voor verschillende optredens en om les te geven in lindyhop, solo jazz en blues. Nu geeft ik les in Haarlem en Amsterdam, organiseer ik workshops, zowel voor beginners als voor gevorderde dansers, en ben ik in te huren als dj voor socials. Ook heb ik een ruime ervaring in het geven van burlesque workshops. Muzikaliteit en creativiteit staan voorop in al mijn lessen, maar ook het overbrengen van de rijke geschiedenis van de verschillende muziek- en dansstijlen. When I was 18 I discovered my love for dancing thanks to the active Balfolk community in Utrecht. I explored tango, salsa, Irish dancing, poledancing and even some aerial acrobatics, but eventually I fell in love with Lindyhop in Amsterdam. This turned out to only be the beginning of an enduring love for all things swing. I was soon asked to perform and to teach classes in lindyhop, solo jazz and bluesdancing and currently teach weekly classes in Amsterdam and Haarlem. I organise workshops for beginners as well as advanced dancers and can be hired as a dj for social dances. Besides swing dancing I also have extensive experience teaching burlesque workshops. Musicality and creativity are what’s most important in my lessons, but also sharing the rich history of swingdance as well as swingmusic.
